News has broken that original stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.

The actors are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. It is believed their appearance will probably be featured in a brief glimpse ahead, considering the original saga concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This represents the sixth cinematic outing in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.

Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a recent book by series creator Suzanne Collins. It serves as the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed the majority of the previous films in the series.
