Trump's Granddaughter Seeks Expert Tips from Golf Legend Woods Prior to LPGA First Appearance
This young athlete has substantial online presence
Kai Trump will have numerous well-known cheerleaders as she begins her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to Donald Trump, was granted a sponsor's invitation to play at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns numerous golf courses and frequently matches against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have competitive games," she stated.
She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He essentially suggested to compete and have fun," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, making him rather occupied."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in a mere three competitions recently and maintains position 461 in AJGA listings.
However she's able to receive tips from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Kai's mother.
"He represents the best player worldwide," Kai stated.
"Furthermore, he's an even better human being. He suggested me to go out there, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."
She'll challenge some of the biggest names in women's golf at the competition, featuring second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Officials commented that involving Kai helps introduce the sport to wider groups, particularly among the next generation.
The social media influencer maintains substantial online presence and has started her own fashion and living company.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
